Your goal is a lighthouse for your journey

Step 1 in creating a journey of deeper self belief and finding purpose and personal growth in your journey is......to choose your lighthouse (your goal) and take action on it.

If you do not have a goal that's measurable then there is no journey. And as we all know the journey is the juicy part giving you the wisdom, the lessons, the deeper self belief and all the things that bring you to a new level of you. We don't want to miss out on the journey, I know I don't want to miss out.

Without a goal it's easy to fall into chasing the wrong things and experiencing deep frustration, confusion and feelings of being lost.

Your goal (lighthouse) acts as a guide and a magnet moving you towards the change you want to create for yourself. The beautiful thing is in athletics that personal growth you experience on your journey encompasses the body, mind and soul ❤️

Choose a goal that is measurable and that you know you will need to grow in order to achieve it.

Ironman 70.3 Oregon 🌲 post race

* Awesome course definitely on my favorite courses list!

* I was reminded how much I love racing 70.3 💙 the energy of being on a course with all the other awesome humans who worked hard to get there and showed up for themselves day after day 💙 because the truth is, to do a 70.3 one needs to grow and show up for yourself - it's hard and very worth it 💙

* That swim was a combination of hilarious and sooooo much fun! I swam surprisingly straight despite not being able to see the buoys in the sunrise.

* My bike was slooooow which was not surprising given that leading into this race I was in injury prevention mode. I was having some concerning tightness in my left calf and knee that was being persistent. I eventually got it figured out but only a few weeks before the race. Also, straight up, I need to focus more on my bike training too. This race is a great reminder to me to focus more on my development areas. 🚲 I'm inspired.

* My run was really steady and strong considering my time off of run. I'm super proud of my run as it shows me I am making great progress in my run strength and durability. Yay 🎉

Day before Ironman 70.3 Oregon 🌲

Opened up my transition bag and realized I didn't pack my wetsuit I packed Sydney's wetsuit by mistake. Went with laughing instead of freaking out 😂 and I laughed a lot that's for sure.

Turns out it fit me great and I'm now going to order a new wetsuit same size 💦 it felt much better in the water than my suit.

The thing is .....sometimes "mistakes" can actually be a positive. I love this journey so much ❤️

Last pool swim before the race - always some shenanigans when Sydney is at swim. I should say, when we are at swim together. We were trying to do a time lapse but as you can see that's not what happened 😂.

9 days till Ironman 70.3 Oregon 🌲 and I'm searching for my taper 🤪. In the car before my swim session which was still not tapery 🙃.

I'm one of those athletes who likes taper ....well....at least the beginning of taper. The bit before I loose my mind not training a bunch.
